World is prioritizing safety and hygiene over anything else owing to the ongoing pandemic. Cars are said to be the safest mode of travel during the current time as they minimize the contact with the outside world when you are on roads. Spinny, an online used car retailing business has sold about 300 cars in phase 4 of the lockdown starting from May 17.
The buying behavior of the consumers is witnessing a major shift and so has affected the businesses around the globe. The company expects to head back to its pre-coronavirus number by next month relying on its contact less home test drive initiative. Spinny is prioritizing the safety of its customers and employees and that is why it has started contact less delivery system. The startup has been receiving considerable amount of orders in past few weeks.
Niraj Singh, CEO and co-founder of Spinny said in a statement, “The automotive consumer behavior is increasingly being altered by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As health and hygiene is at the paramount, it has required us to have strict protocols at every touch points. We are witnessing a sharp increase in inquiries of home test drives. We are expecting to be back to the pre-COVID-19 numbers by June.”
Spinny was founded in 2015 by Niraj Singh, Mohit Gupta and Ramanshu Mahuar as an online-to-offline pre-owned cars retail service. It is a tech-enabled platform which allows the user to select cars online through the website and complete the purchase offline at a Spinny Car Hub. The company is currently operating in 5 cities across the country including Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune with 10 car hubs. Spinny believes that car is the safest mode of travel for personal mobility and the buyers are shifting towards pre-owned cars giving a leverage to the firm. They have sold 10000 cars since inception with 5000 alone in last year.
