Fashion and lifestyle ecommerce firm, Myntra has employed 5000 people ahead of 12th edition of ‘End of the Reason Sale’ which is scheduled between June 19 and June 22. The recruitments have been done in supply chain and customer care verticals. This is a first for the company when their employees will be working from home during a sale.

Amar Nagaram, CEO of Myntra said in a statement, “There are many firsts to this sale – one being that most of it is being run virtually and secondly, we hired the additional workforce a week in advance instead of a day prior to the sale like in pre-Covid years.”

The company provided necessary benefits to its fleet staff at a time when all the migrant workers were heading back to their villages which will come in handy during this period. Nagaram also told that for the first time, all the employees will be given 2 days “recharge leave” post the sale gets over.

“We understand that these are challenging times for those who are coming for work at the fulfilment centers and even those who are working from home. This is a first-of-its-kind leave to ensure employees rejuvenate themselves,” added Nagaram.

The firm has been taking various steps to build the morale of its employees. For their fulfillment center employees, they organized a virtual townhall and a gig by the band Lagori with a kick-off in the 3D environment. They have also created virtual war rooms for the employees to work through the sale with a central board room where anyone from leadership, revenue, marketing, business, tech and product teams can raise concerns.

The CEO stated that they are concerned about their staff’s mental wellbeing specially in a work from home environment. To help the employees, Myntra has been organizing online yoga and meditation sessions every morning for teams since the lockdown began.

To ensure connectivity, the company has provided employees with Wi-Fi dongles as they are all set to work 24/7 throughout the sale. More than 1000 employees will be working remotely for the big sale. Flipkart-owned Myntra send email reminder to employees to take a break which will also include breathing exercise gifs to relax their staff.
