A Delhi-based telemedicine startup, Remedo raised an undisclosed amount in its pre-Series A round led by River Rock Ventures and Inflection Point Ventures. The round also saw participation from AngelList, Mohit Satyanand, Mitesh Daga of TPG Capital and Aditya Vij of Kedara capital.

The healthtech startup started by Dr. Ruchir Mehra, Harsh Bansal, and Richeek Arya in 2017 operates a telemedicine platform which connects about one lakh patients with doctors. It provides services like customized care plans, consultation, follow-up visit reminders, tests, medicine reminders and also gives detailed answers to patient FAQs. It also has a smart health assistant called ‘Disha’ that delivers specialized wellness programs to patients as per their requirements.

“Because of Covid outbreak, patients are unable to meet their doctors in person as it is not advisable to visit hospitals if one is not a corona affected case. As a result, we have seen a clear acceptance among the stakeholders to take the telemedicine route. Our business has witnessed 17 percent growth in follow up visits for the doctors on the platform,” Dr. Ruchir Mehra said in a statement.

Remedo plans to use the raised amount to expand their platform to other specialties like cardiovascular, neuro and respirators. The startup believes that one out of four Indians suffer from a chronic medical condition which requires more than just a prescription and this difference is covered by Remedo as it allows the patient to reach its doctor as much as 25 times a month increasing their satisfaction rate to 90%.
