Gurugram based startup, Hapramp has raised $1 million from Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra. Founded in 2018 by 5 students from IIT Vadodara, Hapramp is a startup working on technologies like blockchain and social media.

Mahindra said in a tweet posted on Wednesday, “Took 2 years, but I finally found the start-up I was looking for! @Hapramp is indigenous, built by 5 young founders & brings together a best-in-class combination of creativity, technology & data protection. Look out for @gosocial_app their social networking platform.”

The Chairman had been on a look out for a funding opportunity in an Indian social media startup since 2018. He also tweeted about this and asked ex-Mahindra executive, Jasprit Bindra to support him in finding the next-gen social media startup.

Bindra who is an executive advisor and mentor for the startup stated, “The Hapramp team is building a Web 3.0 social network. It is built on emerging digital technologies, has a solid business model which rewards content creators, protects personal data, and best of all, is built here locally in India.”

Hapramp has been incubated through its early days by Huddle, a sector-agnostic incubator that is based in Gurugram and has also invested in the startup. The firm also operates 1Ramp.io, a social media platform powered by Steem Blockchain and Asteria Protocol, in addition to GoSocial.

Hapramp co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Shubhendra Vikram said, “We are honoured and excited. This is a massive approval of our mission to give creators the right to their content. We plan to use the funds to expand our platform and want to empower creators.”

GoSocial already has a userbase of 50K within three months of its launch. The platform allows the users to take creative challenges designed by photographers, artists, writers, and designers and get rewarded. Vikram though denied to comment on the valuation of the startup.

Their primary focus presently is creating a presence in the market more than anything. The startup is expecting the platform to grow by 1 lakh users in the next three months and have over 10 lakh users by the end of this year in India. They also plan on expanding the business to other south Asian countries.
