PMEGP

With the unemployment rates at an all time high, Government gave a big relief by announcing the removal of District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) making the approval process easier for MSMEs. DLTFC scrutinised the programs and then recommended them to Prime Minister Employment Generation Program (PMEGP). This often slowed down the sanctioning of projects unnecessarily. Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), who is the sole responsible for implementing the PMEGP scheme will now be directly handling the proposals under PMEGP removing any intermediaries. They will clear the applications and pass them on to banks for taking credit decisions.

Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chairman of KVIC explained that this will speed up the employment generation in the country as the element slowing down the process has been removed. The current situation of Indian employment is worrisome as the unemployment rate has crossed the 20% mark as well as more and more people are losing their hopes from the job sector. This step is taken to boost the jobs in the market. This news will serve in best of interest for population seeking employment under PMEGP scheme.
