Laptops have become a prized commodity amid the lockdown,Economic Times reports. Parents working from home are facing time-clashes with children who need to attend online classes, bringing home the importance of individual machines. As a result, laptop sales have soared in non-hotspot areas. Asus India says it met half its average national volume from just 100-odd stores within a week of re-opening. At Snapdeal, demand for laptops and mobile phones has doubled since the lockdown. Indians buy 45 lakh computers a year and the lockdown has spiked the demand by 40-45%, with even corporates joining the rush.
