He is the Co Founder At Websiters. Let’s learn more about his exciting journey, his background and his advice for our growing community!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey, please;

Hi! I am Dhruvil Shah – a serial procrastinator, and a Digital Entrepreneur – a curious being. I have worked with many ventures and founded some. They range from simple blogging websites to E-commerce Websites and Digital Agencies. I wear many hats as and when the situation requires – from a developer to a graphic designer to a digital marketer and SEO.

I took my first steps on the Path of Entrepreneurship way back in 2015 when I was pursuing BSc IT. One of my friends had started a lifestyle blog and he offered me a partnership as he wanted me to help him on the technical side as it aligned with my major in IT.

Right now, the same website we created to learn something and have fun, has 500K+ views every month. That is how most of my projects have been successful. Starting small, sowing a seed and then working on it relentlessly till it blooms into a fruit-bearing tree.

Please Provide a brief overview of your product & Services?

The services I provide are all related to the digital presence of businesses online. The primary areas in which I can provide my services are Website Development, Digital Marketing and SEO which are all necessary to persist on the web.

The most challenging part of your journey to date and how did you overcome those challenges?

As I already mentioned I tend to procrastinate a lot! I feel it is beneficial to procrastinate a little for the creative tasks or which need a lot of quality added to it. As when you first decide on a task your subconscious can work out the details in the back and when you actually do it you have a better base to start. But I feel like I put off things for way too long even menial stuff that I have to get over with. Things as simple as making the bed.

Now I use this method called the “5-second rule” to avoid procrastination for too long. I am still not using it as much frequently as I should but I am getting there 5 seconds at a time.

How are you managing your life and work during Lockdown caused by COVID 19?

The COVID crisis does not affect much of the way I work. My team, and I are used to working remotely as we really met like once or twice a week. However, we do try to increase interpersonal communication so that everyone can work effectively. The simple work-from-home etiquette has helped to reduce a lot of the decision fatigue and stress in about almost anything and everything that we do.

The only thing I am missing right now is eating out with friends and going for a cup of coffee.

What is your source of motivation for the day when you wake up?

As Dan Lok said in his book FU Money, you must have a tangible list of goals that you want to achieve in life otherwise you will always be on the chase and you wouldn’t know when to stop.

After a lot of thinking I have a list! It was strenuous to come up with an exhaustive list of my goals! and now I have that very list on my soft board in my room which I see every day and that motivates me to make every decision I make that takes me closer to those goals.

How do you manage your stress?

I am not someone who stresses a lot. But If I am at a point when something is really bugging me. To take my mind off it I play Dota 2, I have been playing it since 2014. It is a sincere strategy game that makes you react at the moment and you really have to immerse yourself in the game so it helps me clear my mind of whatever is bugging me. So after that, I have a fresh mind which helps me think from a different perspective.

What according to you are keys to success?

Success is very elusive in nature, to achieve it you must be resilient in your endeavors and ready to accept change whenever it comes your way.

So for me resilience and readiness to accept change are the keys to success.

What Online Apps/tools do you use the most and Why?

I am a big tool fanatic and I always go on trying and testing whatever tools that come my way. So far I am using

  1. DynaList – to create a hierarchical mind map, may it be for content or otherwise.
  1. Notion – we store Company Wikki, Blogging Guidelines, Resources, and even our Content Calendar is on Notion.
  1. Todoist – for personal Todoist, pairs easily with Voice Assistants and has good options for recurring tasks.
  1. Slack – company communication channel as it has all the integrations. Thinking of moving to Discord tbh! The thing missing from slack is quality screen sharing and call options both video and audio, that discord solves easily plus they have an AI noise cancellation which is always a plus to have.

What habit you think, makes you more productive?

  • The tools I use that are mentioned above, help me greatly organize things and help me check off things very quickly and efficiently.
  • It might seem counter-intuitive but my habit of procrastination seems to help me finish tasks requiring problem-solving and creative thinking capabilities a lot faster and with greater quality.
  • To drown out the surrounding noise while working I used to have songs running in the background but that distracted too much. After that I switched to symphonies from Bach, Vivaldi and other artists and they worked amazingly well. Occasionally I listen to LoFi Car Radio from freecodecamp.

Share a quote that inspires you the most.

I am borrowing a quote from Albert Einstein,

“The reason for time is so that everything doesn’t Happen at Once” This quote helps me with being patient and persistent.

This quote from David Ogilvy from one of his books Confessions of an Advertising Man.

“Search the parks in all your cities. You’ll find no statues of committees.”

This inspires me to take swift decisions and not to indulge in practices of gathering a large group of people in key decisions for my business as well as personal life.

Your advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs.

Start early, start small but with a big vision, as your it will be your motivation and will keep you on the right path to realize it.

“Change is the only constant”

Be persistent but at the same time be flexible enough to change with the changing times.

“Your desire for success should always be greater than your fear of failure”

I am always there to mentor and advise fellow entrepreneurs, and can be reached at dhruvil@websiters.in anytime.
