And as a part of our initiative, we invited yet another passionate Entrepreneur Mr. Abhishek Singh Chauhan for an interview with us to understand more about his entrepreneurial journey. He is the Founder At iessentialss. Let’s learn more about his exciting journey, his background and his advice for our growing community!
Could you please throw some light on you and your entrepreneurial journey so far?
I have been educated from Australia’s pioneer University and have done a diploma in community service/social work from the Cambridge School of Australia. I have always been inclined towards innovation and giving back to society. My journey in entrepreneurship began when my brother and I decided to carry forward our father’s construction business. And now, with the intent to serve Mother Earth and my fellow citizens, I am in the process of launching a marketplace with iessentialss, which is aimed at providing a platform to micro, small and medium businesses along with homegrown brands and products from artisans at satellite locations. The journey has been like a bed of roses with everyone’s support and hard work involved in it directly or indirectly.
What would be your three biggest superpowers?
The only superpower that a person can have is his hard work and dedication. I am just an ordinary lad who dreams high. One of the qualities that make me distinct from my peers could be my persistence and out-of-the-box thinking.
What is your favorite part of being an entrepreneur?
The best part of being an entrepreneur is “You are your Boss”. Each success, each loss of me is because of me. Everything I do is for me and my vision. Also, I do not need to report to anyone, which is the best part. But this comes with the huge responsibility of making sure what I am doing is perfect.
How did you come across the idea of iessentialss?
During this lockdown, I realized the importance of e-commerce as the backbone of the market. However, my eye for detail made me realise that there is limited scope for small and micro business owners. This realization inspired me to come up with the idea of a common marketplace which will just not expand the horizon for these businesses but will also aim at empowering them. And this is the vision that lays the foundation of iessentialss, the Indian essentials superstore.
What sort of a product/service will you be providing?
We will provide a sustainable growth space to both consumers and retailers of the artisans’ products. These products are majorly inclined in personal care, health care, hygiene, wellness, home care, child care, eco-sustainable & organic. We also aim to support tribal art and save the lost art through it
How do you feel the AtmaNirbhar Bharat Concept would help your organization?
Certainly, this initiative was taken by our honorable Prime Minister. AtmaNirbhar Bharat for our venture as a whole, as one of the foundations for iessentialss, is also based on one of the initiatives of the government, which is Make in India. We support the Indian artisans, including women and small and micro unorganized business owners, to empower them.
How will your organization be a solace to the micro and macro businesses amidst the harsh effects of the Pandemic?
This Pandemic has adversely affected all businesses, but the most affected are micro and macro businesses. It is my vision and deep-hearted desire to help them. This marketplace will be an ultimate platform that will ensure the growth of small and micro-businesses. It will make sure that no pandemic will have such drastic effects on any business in the future. And no one sees such dreadful days again.
Any projects or future prospects you would like to share with us?
Currently, my short-term goal is to flourish iessentialss and make it the best marketplace that will benefit both consumers and producers.With this platform, I vision in empowering artisans and support the Made in India concept. Along with providing a sustainable environment, I ensure providing quality products to the consumer.
What effect did COVID-19 leave in your personal as well as work-life?
This novel coronavirus has been a blessing in disguise for me. It was because of this situation that opened doors for the popularity of e-commerce in our country, providing space to grow to each artisan, with which my brain cells got a recipe to make the lemonade from the lemons of lockdown. And then, iessentialss came into being a platform for giving attention to the people who required the most.
If you could go back and do something differently, what would it be?
To err is human and to adapt is divinity; we create our own destiny through our hard work. So, where I am today is the result of my past deeds. I only wish to work for this nation’s upliftment and boost micro-economy through my petite step.
Do you have any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs among our readers?
Well, there is no written, scientifically proven formula for success. It only depends on a person’s belief in his passion and hard work to turn this passion into reality. Dedication and patience with hard work are critical aspects for any entrepreneur who wishes to grow big and make his dreams come true.
