Vogueme Technologies, which owns and operates video meta-tagging platform Toch, has raised over $400,000 (about Rs 3 crore) in a bridge round of funding that was led by Inflection Point Ventures.

While the exact amount raised by the four-year-old startup was not disclosed, proceeds from the pre-Series A bridge round will be used by it to develop its technology infrastructure and further scale up its team, the Mumbai-based company said in an official statement.

“Toch tries to resolve the decade old problem of the media industry for inserting metadata in video, live sports and ad placement in real time. They are one of the best in the industry as far as latency for object identification, meta tagging, image tagging, live streaming and ecommerce are considered,” Rakesh Mistry, an investor at Inflection Point Ventures, said.

Gurugram-based Inflection Point Ventures is an investor collective that counts a number of top finance professionals working across various startups, as well as angel investors and high net-worth individuals, banding together, to make early-to-mid-stage investments in ventures, across sectors.

According to the prepared statement, the sector-agnostic investment collective has committed or invested an estimated $3.5 million, across eight transactions, since January earlier this year, in sectors such as health-tech, online grocery delivery, media and entertainment and online education.

The latest round of funding comes about nine months after Toch raised an undisclosed sum in its pre-Series A round, which was led by a clutch of investors, including, Hyderabad Angels, Mumbai Angels and other high net-worth individuals.

Founded in 2016 by Vinayak Srivastav, Saket Dandotia and Alok Patil, the company’s platform auto-detects multiple touch points in data format inside video content automatically through its proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI). It also claims to help online video creators, media companies, advertisers and OTT platforms to succeed in digital video, across all platforms, through its insights, achieved by using AI and Deep Learning.

“Toch has successfully implemented enabling meta-tagging for live sporting events, live shows, library-based content for streaming platforms and is venturing into broadcasting meta-tagging simultaneously,’ Srivastav said in the company-issued statement.
