A program designed to help the Agritech startups of the country has been announced by
Microsoft. The program is so curated that it will support the startups to create industry-specific
solutions, grow with the help of deep tech, business and marketing resources. It will be a
shared space for innovation, learning and growth.

With the help of technology and business resources by Microsoft, startups will be able to
scale up their operations. This program also provides access to Azure FarmBeats, a purpose
built, industry specific cloud platform for better assessment of the data. This will help them
focus on core value-adds in place of the undifferentiated heavy lifting of data engineering.
Azure Farmbeats is available on Azure Marketplace which will support aggregation of
agricultural data across several providers and creating distinct actionable insights by building
AI/ML model based on fused data.

Sangeeta Bavi, Director, Startup Ecosystem, Microsoft India stated, “Agritech startup
innovations are addressing some of our key challenges connected to agriculture and food
production. The Microsoft for Agritech Startups program is among the early steps in our
journey towards empowering these startups in India and transforming global agricultural
practices.”

The program has been divided into three tiers, the first one being for all startups with qualified
seed to Series C funding who can upscale their businesses with Azure benefits, unlimited
technical support and help with Azure Marketplace onboarding.

Second category, co-sell startups includes startups with enterprise-ready solutions that can
utilize joint-go-to market strategies, technical support and new sales opportunities. Lastly, co-
create startups for the ones working on a digital agricultural solution and they can benefit from
Azure FarmBeats without spending in deep data engineering resources.
