With the lockdown imposed throughout the country due to novel Covid-19, people have taken to virtual world to engage themselves. The traffic on websites have increased two-fold as well as new platforms have emerged in this duration. Online gaming platforms had gained a dedicated set of followers even before the pandemic began. Bengaluru-based e-sports start-up EWar Games has seen an increase in the users by three times.

With the surge, the gaming startup now serves over 500,000 people. The EWar mobile app has seen an increase of 40% in the average time spent by a user per day. The average number of games played daily has noted 4X growth as well. EWar allows the users to play skill-based games and win cash rewards for the same. They aim to make gaming not only fun but a cash cow as well.

Bengaluru-based e-sports and real-time gaming startup EWar Games has raised $200,000 in equity funding from the House of Jindals (family office) and Jeet Banerjee, Founder of Gameplan, a sports management firm based out of Kolkata.

EWar aims to work on its User Experience as well as Market reach through this.

Ever since the government announced the lockdown, the screen time has increased massively in the country. It is not surprising to see the online platforms to benefit from the same. Parth Chadha, Founder and CEO of EWar games stated, “We are happy to note that out of the 3x post-lockdown growth in terms of users on EWar app, a majority of our new users are coming from tier 1 cities, and the organic traffic volume and engagements are increasing day-by-day.” The company has also noticed an unusual pattern of user session. Pre-lockdown majority of the traffic was recorded in evening while now there is uniform business throughout the day.
