Multiple relief measures and customised combo offers will be provided by Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel for their small-business clients affected by the Covid-19-induced lockdown and will formulate plans to help them meet their digital requirements. The telcos intend to help MSMEs by managing their bandwidth needs and offering customised digital tools to boost their web presence while giving up on rentals of select plans. A total of about 20% telco’s enterprise business revenue comes from MSME customers, as reveled by industry associates.

“The rentals for audio-conferencing solutions have already been waived off by Vodafone & Idea and is the service is being offered as a pay-as-you-use service to MSME clients… In addition, to help these small businesses address emerging business opportunities as they practice work-from-home operations it is also offering its products such as WebBuddy, to boost the web presence of these small businesses,” Abhijit Kishore, the company’s director (enterprise business), told sources.

To ensure the proposition links itself to the business growth of small and medium businesses, VIL’s PayGo audio-conferencing plans without rentals, he said, would continue beyond the lockdown. While new bundled plans aimed at helping MSMEs will be unveiled by Bharti Airtel soon.
