Amit Burman, Dabur India’s Chairman recently invested in No Worry No Tention Healthcare (NWNT), an emotional and mental wellbeing platform. The deal was made in personal capacity of Burman in NWNT’s pre-series A funding round. The startup was founded by Psychiatrist Sandeep Vohra in 2011.
Burman confirmed in a statement about his investment and said,
“This can potentially cause disruption in a society that’s craving for uplift. Stress levels are up over multiple factors and there’s escalation amidst the Covid-19 pandemic with people are going through emotional, health and financial stress.”
The platform aims to improve the supply and demand chain in the space of emotional health in an extensible manner.
Burman’s investments outside Dabur include Late Bite Foods which operates restaurants like Punjab Grill, Street Foods and Zambar, liquor importing firm Nature’s Bounty Wines and Allied Products, Poker Sports League and Ultimate Kho Kho league.
NWNT uses augmented human-intelligence technology to screen, evaluate, prevent and treat emotional and mental health disorders. To help people cope from stress during the lockdown, the health ministry has released a series of measures for “handling emotional problems” during Covid-19. Actress Deepika Padukone who is a firm promoter of mental wellbeing also launched a “wellness guide” on Instagram for people going through mental stress right now.
Packaged consumer goods manufacturer Dabur named Amit Burman as Chairman in July, 2019. The company is hopeful of things getting better in three months for the consumer industry.
